I'd say 78andsunny is definitely soft, a bit more casual than Marine Layer sometimes. Marine Layer feels a little more premium maybe, but for the price, 78andsunny is great for everyday wear.

Honestly, they're both good for different vibes. 78andsunny is more my go-to for just chilling, super comfy. Marine Layer has some nicer fabric blends sometimes, but I wouldn't say one is definitively 'better', just different styles of soft.

I'd probably go with the smaller size if you're truly between. They're a relaxed fit, so it should still be comfy, and mine haven't really stretched out much.

They're pretty true to size, but the fabric is forgiving. If you like a slightly snugger fit, size down, if you want super relaxed, size up. They hold their shape pretty well though, not much stretching.
